Joan Krenning BIO: A Woman Becoming
It was Feb 4th, 2013, when Joan Krenning embarked upon a three-year motorcycle tour called Glory USA Freedom Ride. Her personal mission was simple: to inspire Hope in Americans. 20 weeks and 16,000 miles into her ride, she recalls the first question most often asked of her, “Are you alone?” To their amazement, her answer was “Yes!” Yet is was in Missouri that June, after experiencing yet another spiritual awakening, that Joan felt the presence of God in every mile she rode.
Her story is one of a path to significance paved by old sins, shaped by adversity, and driven by true grit and hope. According to Joan, it is ONLY through riding the roads she’s ridden that she has realized her mission of becoming S.T.R.O.N.G.; Smart, Tenacious, Radical, Outrageous, Natural, Graceful.
Today, thousands of women ride the open road. On iron horses they journey solo, as passengers, or unity with their sisters and brothers… for the love of the ride. With her fire-branded spirit of unity, love, and forever becoming, Joan launched the Steel Horse Sisterhood Charities in 2013.
“As women who ride, we share a common bond. We share the love for our countries, the love of riding and the love of our motorcycles. We have the capacity to love deeply, and to love completely. And we hold the capacity of loving ourselves.” – Joan Krenning.
Her present mission (mission of presence)? Unveiling the Becoming S.T.R.O.N.G. Movement at the 2018 Women’s Motorcycle Summit at Phoenix Rising: the Arizona Women’s Moto Summit: a gathering of women riders of all ages, skill levels, and on any brand of motorcycle. The Becoming S.T.R.O.N.G. Movement encourages unity and commonality amongst women riders, and simultaneously builds an education fund for women who have walked through dark valleys and emerged enlightened, victorious, and stronger than before. This movement is a collaboration of the life stories of women who ride, and what fuels their passion. It transcends age, race, economics, religion, and borders. It is a spiritual connection of women who ride to leave their mark on the world!
“When I tell you my story, I become human to you. When I tell you my story, I become vulnerable and I become open. I invite you in to open-up a conversation and a dialogue has begun. Now, we can live, laugh, love and ride together. And we can cry together. Won’t you join me in this Great Adventure?” – Joan Krenning
