Biography

My name is Kim Miller.  I retired from the USAF.  There, I was a paralegal and continue that work in my civilian life.  One day while sitting on the back of my husband’s bike, I decided it was time for me to ride my own.  The next morning, after I mentioned it to him, there was a 250 Honda Rebel waiting for me. I quickly progressed to a 750 Shadow, and after a trip up the Pacific Coast Highway, I was ready for a Harley.  I rode a Heritage Softail until we moved to Mexico, which was too big for the road conditions there. The perfect bike was the 750 Street. Returning to the U.S., I got on a 1200 Sportster Touring, which I ride today.  I became involved with the Women’s Motorcycle Summit because I want to share my passion of riding and more importantly riding in our beautiful state — Arizona.

I decided it was time to learn when I was sitting on the back of my husband’s bike and thought what if something happened to him?  What would we do? I mentioned this to my husband on a Saturday afternoon after our ride. The next morning there was a 250 Honda Rebel in our garage!  I progressed quickly to a 750 Honda Shadow and after a trip up the Pacific Coast Highway, I was ready for a Harley. I rode a Heritage Softail until we moved to Mexico.  For me, the bike was too big for the roads, cobblestones and conditions. I then rode a Harley 750 Street, which was the perfect bike for Mexico (I rode in Mexico for 4 years).  When I returned to the US, I started riding at 1200 Sportster Touring, which I ride today. I became involved with the Women’s Motorcycle Summit because I want to share my passion of riding and more importantly riding in our beautiful state of Arizona.
